About me

Namaste, I'm Lauren McLean, a wife and mother of three. I've been practicing Yoga and Pilates for over 15 years, starting before my first child. I understand the needs of women to continually take time out for themselves, but also work on creating much needed strength and vitality through movement practices such as yoga and pilates.

As women age, we want to stay strong, however we also want to reduce cortisol levels in the body. For some this may mean too much heavy or high intensity training can have the opposite effect on your body. And you may start to feel that your body is not responding like it use too.

As our body ages, we need to find practices then bring us in harmony, balance our hormones, keep our mind balanced and focused, and reduce cortisol (stress hormone) in our body. I keep falling in love again and again with Yoga and Pilates as my main means of keeping my body strong, my mind centred and a deep connection to the Divine.

I offer sacred classes for deep nurturing, healing, and physical work. My classes blend Vinyasa which is a powerful and strong style of yoga for a strong challenge, while Slow flow and Yin provide time to restore and let our nervous system rest and digest, and Pilates offers a way of workout like nothing else.

  • My love for yoga came about after attending a Vinyasa class at the gym back in 2009. I found this new way of moving the body with breath synchronicity, and was in awe of this system. My body felt amazing afterwards, and the class was challenging in a different way to doing a weights class. Over time I delved deeper into the deeper aspects of yoga and became immersed in the spiritual practice and not just the asana practice. These spiritual concepts are weaved throughout my classes and you will get more then just a physical workout!

From here I explored many years of trainings both here and overseas for both yoga and pilates, and continue to educate myself in the field. These can be viewed on the trainings section of this website.

My classes have a very strong focus on alignment and structural cues to ensure you to get the most out of this amazing physical body we have, along with keeping with traditional concepts of what the practice is about.

I now run regular classes for the community of Tallebudgera from my private shala which is open for anyone to attend.

I also offer 2-3 retreats a year for all walks of life. Retreats are for anyone wanting delve deeper into these beautiful age old practices. More can be viewed on the retreat page.
